What Costs Qualify for the Solar ITC?

When Does the Solar Tax Credit Expire?
Under current law, the residential solar ITC is set to step down after 2032. Systems placed in service in 2033 qualify for a 26% credit, systems installed in 2034 qualify for 22%, and the residential credit drops to zero for systems installed in 2035 or later, unless Congress passes another extension. Congress has extended or restored solar tax credits multiple times since the credit was first enacted in 2006, but there is no guarantee that pattern will continue.
